Park & Sixth Comfort Food original store that opened open on the corner of Park and Sixth in Hoboken, NJ has been there for one year and is doing outstanding!  

They are almost ready for their second store grand opening in Jersey City.  Located at 364 Grove Street right in the center of Jersey City’s happening area.  Brian Dowling, owner and chef said “I really look forward to bringing Park & Sixth to Jersey City.  There are a lot of quality places in this area of Jersey City and Park & Sixth will fit right in”. 

With all the new financial offices located in downtown Jersey City, Dowling’s team will have lines out the door and a couple delivery cars during peak hours.  The Jersey City, Park & Sixth does offer plenty of seating unlike the Hoboken location.

They look to open sometime in August.

Have you stopped by the new Pierogi Truck yet in Hoboken?  We stumbled upon it the other day as we were leaving happy hour at The Chandelier Room.  We did not have anything to eat but snapped a couple of pictures so you can see what the truck menu is all about.

Zena Grocery & Deli is officially open for business.  This Mediterranean style deli offers Hoboken residents salads, vegetarian platters, sandwiches and much more.

Zena Grocery & Deli is located at 400 Jefferson Street in the old Regina Maids headquarters.  This midtown location needed something new and they got it.  Zena has plenty of homemade dishes including a to die for falafel and hummus along with a homemade dessert Baklawa.

The owner of Zena is Faisal Alessaly and  he is really happy to bring a delicious Mediterranean Deli to Hoboken and looks forward to pleasing his Hoboken clients.

At this corner location they also offer plenty of grocery items, including chips, soda, ice cream, dog food and many other items one may need in their apartment, all at the reasonable price.  They also offer free delivery within Hoboken.

Dino’s Sandwich & Café 

Fairly new to the block of 6^th and Washington is Dino’s Sandwich & Café.  Tired of the same old meal at your usual spot?  Dino’s offers over 130 different options including sandwiches, salads, paninis, wraps, and soups.   You could go there for 18 weeks and never have the same meal – how many other places in Hoboken can say that?  I have yet to find another one.   

Hesitant to try this new place?  The walls are covered in pictures of the different menu options to give you a preview of what you are ordering.   Also a plus for you health conscious diners, Dino’s is very vegetarian friendly.  A special section on their menu boasts 8 different vegetarian sandwiches, many more than your traditional Hoboken sandwich shop. The panini and fresh mozzarella sections also offer many meatless selections.  

Eating there on a day mother nature decided to relentlessly pound Hoboken with rain, I ordered for pickup instead of enjoying a beautiful spring day in their outside eating area. As a vegetarian, my choice wasn’t easy.  It came down to the fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato, & olive oil and the egg white, shitake mushroom, grilled mozzarella, & red pepper sandwich. Deciding to go with the latter, I had a nice serving of healthy proteins and veggies on multi grain bread, I certainly didn’t lapse into a “food coma” that I’ve been told meat eaters commonly experience after a large sandwich.  

One other option I suggest is checking out their breakfast.  Having to choose from 26 breakfast sandwiches might slow your morning down a bit, but judging from the egg whites I had with the lunch sandwich, it would be well worth it.
